The transformational energy of the new year is upon us …
And for me — as I transition from 2025 to 2026 — “transformational” feels a bit of an underwhelming word to describe what’s really going on in my world.
So perhaps, we instead call it …
🌪️ An upheaval?
🤔 An entire remolding of self?
🐣 A rebirthing process?
😲 A dark night of the soul?
I’ve got a lot of *BIG* decisions to be made … and a lot of actions to be taking *FAST*.
And to throw a curveball into the mix …
There’s a 95% chance that over the next 6 months …
I will be packing everything here in Alexandria, Virginia, and moving ALLLLLLLLLL the way across the country to the island of Kodiak, Alaska 🐻🏔️🦅🌲 … where there are MORE grizzly bears than there are humans (literally).
So …
I got a lot going on.
To say the least.
Which means over the next 6 months …

When life is moving fast and decisions carry weight, vague definitions tend to amplify uncertainty rather than reduce it. Simplifying what anxiety is and is not creates a steadier place to stand.
I also like how this points readers toward next steps regardless of whether they fully identify with the label. That keeps the focus on action and understanding rather than self-diagnosis. In moments of big change, having a clear working definition can make the difference between feeling hijacked and feeling oriented.
